Flaming Eggplant prepares for move into new CAB
No matter what our individual affiliations, tastes, or desires are, one thing that ties us together is food. At Evergreen, students have had to fight tooth and nail and work 40-60 hour weeks on top of classes to get sustainable, self-run, local food service off the ground. Evergreen’s latest and perhaps greatest experiment in selfoperated food service is the Flaming Eggplant. I sat down over a flaming tater salad at their Big Annual Meeting to see what’s up.

Popular American culture is continually lowering the bar for communication in favor of being able to colloquially describe our daily lives by stringing together meaningless combinations of expletives and nonsense such as, “Damn, that shit was dope.”
Who Trusts the Trustees?
Nearly 150 students packed the auditorium where the Evergreen Board of Trustees would be deciding whether to raise the already exorbitant price of summer tuition. Students held the floor for almost an hour and a half on Mar. 9 as they explained, debated, screamed, cried, demanded, and even pleaded with the board to seek other options and to not raise tuition.
