How to Support Us

The Counter Point Journal recently became a Registered Student Organization (RSO).

This came as a result of our lack in funds. We were at a point where we had to decide to register as an organization to get funds for the paper or to have no paper at all. We have picked the former as this media outlet remaining open is of great importance to us.

This change will not affect our content in the least. We remain as committed to investigative reporting and independence as we ever have been. should we revisit old issues or run into new stumbling blocks with the administration, we will fight for our freedom of the press and, if all else fails, disband as an RSO and return in our previous incarnation, again looking for ads and donations.

Of course, we seek to be FULLY independent of BOTH advertising requirements and Evergreen bureaucracy, but the only way to do that is by community donations. Maybe after a few years, the Counter Point will have this kind of following. As it stands, this was the only way to make sure the paper would continue to be printed.
