"In the fight against bigotry, we stand together, and we must. In the fight against injustice, we stand together, and we must. In the fight against intimidation, we stand together, and we must. After all, a regime that would steal an election right before our very eyes will do anything to all of us." - Cynthia McKinney

Cynthia McKinney (born 1955) is a former US Congresswoman who served 6 terms in the United States House of Representatives. In 2008, the Green Party nominated McKinney for President of the United States.

She is the 1st African-American woman to have represented Georgia in the House.

In Congress, she advocated unsealing records pertaining to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., an investigation into the murder of Tupac Shakur, and introduced legislature supporting victims of Hurricane Katrina.

She supported anti-war legislation and introduced articles of impeachment against President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

McKinney was the only member of Congress to participate in a march across the Crescent City Connection Bridge on November 7, 2005, to protest what had happened on that bridge in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

McKinney is a part of the Free Gaza Movement and she formed the organization DIGNITY ACTION MOVEMENT.
