The first Monday of every month, Parents Organizing for Welfare and Economic Rights has a POWER Outage: A gathering to do something special together with our community. Sometimes it’s a training, discussion, or film screening...

This March, join us for a conversation about Reproductive Justice. We will be facilitating an interactive timeline developed by the Western States Center in Portland, Oregon. This timeline identifies various policies and practices—from slavery to anti-miscegenation legislation to birth control testing to immigration laws— that have had a compounding impact of reproductive oppression on marginalized communities.

POWER is an organization of low-income parents and allies advocating
for a strong social safety net while working toward a world where
children and caregiving are truly valued and the devastation of poverty
    has been eradicated.
